Upcoming Research Seminar: “Bangladesh: Climate & Development”

The Culture of Adaptation Network (CAN) at Utrecht University is organizing a research seminar on “Bangladesh: Climate & Development,” to be held on June 30–July 1, 2026, in Utrecht.

Bangladesh is experiencing rapid environmental, economic, and social changes. This seminar focuses on key development issues including climate change, economic growth, social transformation, and sustainability. It aims to bring together researchers, students, practitioners, and investors to share ideas and research findings. The overall goal is to establish a Bangladesh-focused researcher and practitioners database, with outputs envisioned as an edited journal issue or a book.

The seminar welcomes contributions on themes including but not limited to:
(i) Climate Risk and multi-hazards
(ii) Economic development and livelihoods
(iii) Health, water and sanitation
(iv) Infrastructure, housing, and utilities
(v) Adaptation, migration and non-migration
(vi) Equity, inequality and resilience
(vii) Governance and policy
(viii) Data, Models, and Artificial Intelligence.

Authors are invited to submit an abstract of 200 words, including their name(s), institutional affiliation, and email address. The submission deadline is 30 April 2026.
