Reflecting on a successful symposium!
The Early Careers’ Symposium of the Cultures of Adaptation Network (CAN), held on June 26-27 at Utrecht University, was an incredible success. Here are some of the highlights:
- 16 papers were presented by early career researchers from 11 countries spanning 4 continents.
- We had 3 keynote speakers from Germany (Dr. Jürgen Scheffran), Australia (Dr. Animesh Gain) and Taiwan (Dr. Mucahid Bayrak).
- Around 45 people attended (online and offline) the first edition of the symposium.
The diversity of perspectives and innovative approaches to adaptation studies truly showcased the global nature of CAN. From climate change adaptation strategies to cultural resilience and adaptive technologies, the range of topics was both inspiring and thought-provoking.
Now, the researchers will submit their papers to the special issue of the Journal of Climate Resilience and Sustainability to continue collaboration and push the boundaries of adaptation research.
A heartfelt thank you to all the participants, presenters, and our esteemed keynote speakers. Your contributions made this symposium a memorable and impactful event. Here’s to many more successful events and the continued growth of our research community!
